OUCH: 70-Yr-Old Man Has 10 cm Steel Kitchen Fork Removed Inside His PENIS After Sexual Adventure Goes Wrong
The 70-year-old visited Canberra Hospital's emergency department complaining of bleeding genitalia. He then promptly admitted that he had inserted a piece of cutlery into his urethra in an attempt to pleasure himself. Unfortunately the attempt backfired and it became stuck, leaving him in considerable pain. Despite this, it took him 12 hours to pluck up the courage to seek medical help.
The fork was so firmly lodged inside the man's body that doctors could not initially see the cause of the discomfort, according to the report in The International Journal of Surgery. However, once it had been located, 'multiple retrieval methods were contemplated with success achieved via forceps traction and copious lubrication.'
The procedure was successful and the elderly man was sent home with no long-term damage. According to the article, entitled 'An Unusual Urethral Foreign Body', it is very rare to find alien objects lodged in the lower urinary tract. But, it said, many unexpected objects have been retrieved from other parts of the body. These include toothbrushes, pencils, allen keys, plastic cups, light bulbs, thermometers, plants and vegetables, leeches, snakes, wax and glue. Doctors Krishanth Naidu, Maurice Mulcahy and Amanda Chung said they chose to publish the unusual case 'to create discussion among the medical fraternity given the great management challenge faced by the oddity and infrequency with which a fork is encountered in the penile urethra'.
The added that the motives for inserting objects into such a sensitive region were difficult to comprehend. According to the report, in a series of 20 adult cases over 9 years, foreign body insertions into the lower urinary tract have a low incidence, with men 1.7 times more likely to engage in the behaviour than women. They said that practice tends to occur 'during states of pathological masturbation, substance abuse and intoxication'.
In most cases embarrassed patients attempted to retrieve the item themselves, risking injury and foreign body migration. The real danger was infection leading to death, because ashamed patients often delay medical treatment, they said. Doctors generally try to avoid surgery in such situations, instead choosing an option that would minimise trauma and preserve erectile function. According to the report, typical symptoms after having inserted a foreign object into the male urethra include lower abdominal pain, penile pain, swelling of glans or body of penis, inflammation of the urethra, dyspareunia (pain during sex), blood-stained urine, pyuria (pus in urine), increased urinary frequency, inability to urinate and fever.

President Jonathan looked very worried and couldn't help dozing off despite the crowd and noise at the venue of the controversial PDP condition, thus fueling speculations.
Some say he is sick and tired, others say he just need to learn that people like Asari Dokubo and EK Clark can't help him hold PDP governors to ransom, talk less of the larger Nigerian public in 2015.

Photo : Fake CNN Reporter Swindles Bayelsa Government And Officials
The fraudster obtained various sums of money running into millions of naira from state officials who were desperate to receive favorable coverage about the state beset by rising insecurity and incessant kidnappings.
Investigations by SaharaReporters revealed that Allison Okuro, the secretary to the Bayelsa government, as well as Martins Fefegha, the state's commissioner of Information, were among the victims who lost money in the fraudulent deal that was recently exposed.
A source said the fake reporter had moved round several government ministries, departments and agencies collecting bribes before his luck ran out.
Our reporter learned that Mr. Okuro, a professor, had offered hotel accommodation to the imposter and had written a memo seeking the release of funds for a phony documentary promised by the fake reporter in addition to advance cash payments to Mr. Yempe.
Contacted to react on his involvement, the Commissioner for Information declined to state the amount of money he had advanced to the fake journalist. He however admitted that there were plans to lodge money into the reporter's account before the deceptive deal came to limelight.
Mr. Yempe was taken into custody when he approached the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Energy to solicit funds for an interview for a supposed documentary to be aired on CNN.
Police spokesman Alex Akhigbe confirmed the arrest, but said the case was still being investigated. He declined to mention the number of officials fleeced of cash by the fake reporter or to reveal the amount involved.
A reporter in Bayelsa told SaharaReporters that Mr. Yempe is a senior staff of Radio Rivers in Port Harcourt.
CNN could not immediately confirm if it has any connection with the suspected fake reporter.

ANCOP Petitions EFCC Over Akpabio’s N50m Largesse! Wants Stephaine Okereke, Others Arrested
The association is alleging massive fraud in the disbursement of the fund. It has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) to investigate the matter.
According to a copy of the petition made available to HVP, signed by the association's President, Comrade Alex Eyengho, the group is asking the agencies to invite the National President of the Association of Movie Producers, AMP, Zik Zulu Okafor, the National President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria, DGN, Andy Amenechi; the Secretary General of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Yakubu Abubakar and actress Stephanie Okereke- Linus Idahosa for obtaining the fund and disbursing it without the consent of the industry's stakeholders.
Part of the petition dated August 19, 2013 and addressed jointly to the EFCC and SFU, read thus:
"On June 15, 2013, news broke out that some Nollywood stakeholders under the auspices of a non-existent 'Guild of Nollywood Stars' visited Governor Akpabio in his office in Uyo for the purpose of collecting the N50 million pledge to Nollywood.
"The Governor presented to the visitors a prototype post-dated (25-06- 2013) Zenith bank cheque number 00063639 with Akwa Ibom State Government as the account name, issued in favour of Guild of Nollywood Stars. "We also gathered that the Governor, in his usual generosity, gave each of the visitors N500, 000 cash. "Expectedly, the massive publicity given to the entire episode by the press generated heated debates. In fact, it polarised the industry till today.
"Suspecting fraud, ANCOP immediately raised the red flag when it queried the use of a non-existent 'Guild of Nollywood Stars' to access the N50 million pledge, by those who visited Governor Akpabio.
"We are demanding that you immediately commence a full-blown investigation into the alleged fraudent act over the N50 million Governor Akpabio gave to Nollywood to carry out a specific task but now domiciled in the account of one of the the over 30 associations and guilds in Nollywood…Sir, anything short of this is an invitation to anarchy in Nollywood."

7 Governors and Atiku, Walk-out Of PDP Convention
The Governors of Jigawa, Sokoto, Niger, Rivers, Kwara and Adamawa joined Atiku in leaving the venue and headed to the Yar'Adua Center in Abuja, where they addressed a press conference to explain why they stormed out of the convention.
Former chairman of PDP, Abubakar Baraje and some senators also joined them.
PDP Splits: Seven Governors, Oyinlola, Atiku Members Of New Faction
Nigeria's ruling Peoples Democratic Party has finally officially split into at least two factions.
A new faction, consisting of seven of the party's 23 governors has announced that it has taken over the party.
At a press briefing in Abuja, Bala Kaoje, a former sports minister, was announced as the leader of the new faction of the party.
Why We Broke Away - PDP Faction
We address you today as leaders of PDP, who are worried by the increasing repression, restrictions of freedom of association, arbitrary suspension of members and other such violations of democratic principles by a faction of our party led by Alhaji Bamanga Tukur .
While we have done everything humanly possible to bring to the attention of critical stakeholders within the party the dangers inherent in the course being charted by that leadership, it has become very clear that the desperate permutations towards 2015 general elections have blinded certain people from the consequences of their actions.
Not only has the constitution of the party been serially abused by Alhaji Tukur and his fellow travelers, all the organs of the party have been rendered virtually ineffectual by a few people who act as though above the law. Unfortunately, it is obvious that that they get encouragement from the presidency whose old calculations are geared towards shutting out any real or imagined opposition ahead of the party's presidential primaries for the 2015 elections.
As leaders of our great party, we consider it a sacred responsibility to save the PDP from the antics of a few desperadoes who have no democratic temperament and are therefore bent on hijacking the party for selfish ends. While the list of their violations of the tenets of our great party is long, we will highlight just a few:
The National Executive Committee of the PDP at its belated meeting of 20 June 2013 approved 20 July 2013 for the conduct of a special national convention.
However, that date was changed to August 31 without reverting to NEC ( the only authority vested with such powers) by a few people, apparently acting on the authority of the presidency.
Notwithstanding the fact that INEC had noted that the PDP congresses in nine states were not properly conducted, the illegal delegates from such states are being paraded at the so-called convention being held today in a cynical attempt to circumvent the law and further bring the name of the party to disrepute.
In gross violation of the PDP constitution which stipulates that the NEC meeting must hold at least once in a quarter, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and a few people have been running the party like a personal fiefdom without recourse to that important decision-making organ of the party.
The NEC of the party accepted the resignation of the former members of the NWC whose offices were affected by INEC observations based principally on the agreement that the affected officers would be returned to their respective offices at the convention. However, against the decision of the NEC. And in a not-so-clever bid to exclude some perceived opponents of the few powerful members who are trying to hijack the party, these positions have been made Open to some Yes-men within the party.
Notwithstanding INEC instance that Senator Any Uba is the duly elected candidate of the party in Anambra State and against the background that he is so recognized by majority of our party members, the Bamanga Tukur-led Executives announced a purported suspension of Senator Uba and some other members close to him in defiance of subsisting court orders.
Despite that the PDP Constitution is very clear that the state chapter of the party cannot discipline a national officer, the Deputy National Chairman, Mr. Sam Jaja, has reportedly been dismissed by some renegades who have hijacked the Rivers State chapter of our party with the connivance of the Bamanga Tukur leadership.
The persistent change in the list of the party's delegates in many states as part of a deliberate attempt to rig the party's nomination of candidates, especially at the presidential and gubernatorial levels, with a view to foisting on the PDP some unpopular candidates who are bound to lose at the polls.
The suspension without due process of the Governors of Rivers and Sokoto states. Even when the illegal suspension on Sokoto State Governor has been lifted, the Rivers Governor remains purportedly suspended for no just cause.
The illegal dissolution of the Adamawa State chapter of the party is a clear abuse of power by Alhaji Bamanga Tukur thus causing confusion in his home state.
